Live Conversation Piece Sculpting

  • The Hepworth Wakefield Gallery Walk, Wakefield WF1 5AW United Kingdom (map)

Take a moment of contemplation during The Hepworth Wakefield Ceramic Fair and create a clay sculpture with artist Keziah Burt.

This intimate and collaborative session – suitable for individuals, couples or family groups – allows you to talk about any subject close to your heart. During the chat, Keziah will free-sculpt an object in white clay for you to keep and use as a touchstone, decorative object or conversation piece. You are invited to bring small items along with you to emboss into the surface of the clay and the collaborative experience also involves passing the clay back and forth, so it fits into your hands and starts to feel familiar, and writing words from your conversation into it.

Please note:

– Each session will take around 35 – 45 mins
– After the session the clay object will be taken away to be fired and will be shipped to you at a later date
– The sessions are aimed at adults and all children must be accompanied at all times
– The sessions will take place in a closed room, however passing members of the public will be able to look in on the session through a window and watch the sculpture being produced
