PORTRAIT SCULPTURES
“A portrait is more than features. It’s the subtle tensions, the asymmetry, the story etched into skin.”
“SERENITY”
This was originally sculpted in clay in September 2019 in Devon, my model, Izzy, was relaxing during a break in the session, and we were talking about the joys of new motherhood. Izzy glanced downward for a second, reminiscing that moment she held her baby for the first time.
Her expression was so beautiful, so serene. Timeless. I had to capture it.
The intense and overwhelming love you feel, the unpreparedness and the joy. In all the chaos of birth, I wanted to depict that serene moment of a new mother gazing down with such love.
Selected as a finalist for the Lady Petchey Sculpture Prize 2021, the original clay bust was also chosen by the Royal Society of British Artists to be part of their Annual Exhibition 2021.
The bronze edition is cast in foundry bronze and mounted on a solid slate plinth.
24 x 51x 22cm (9.5 x 20 x 9”) including slate plinth
Limited Edition Bronze: £6,000
HRH QUEEN ELIZABETH II
Commissioned by the National Army Museum in Chelsea, this bronze bust shows Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth as her 18-year-old self in her Auxiliary Territorial Service (ATS) uniform. It was sculpted at the museum as part of a week-long Artists Residency.
This was the first service uniform Her Majesty ever wore, so particular care was taken to ensure accuracy for the period, including taking original insignia from the museum to the foundry and casting them directly to ensure the level of detail was perfect.
A video of the bust can be seen here.
As an Army wife, a Royalist and a Sculptor, it has been the privilege of a lifetime for me to be commissioned to create this bust, commemorating Her Majesty’s life of service.
There is a limited edition of this portrait available with a portion of each edition going to HM Queen Elizabeth II’s Green Canopy project.
Limited Edition Bronze: £10,000
HRH KING CHARLES III
What began as a live sculpture of the then Prince of Wales sadly ended the day as the first sculpture of the new King Charles III.
I was honoured that as a result of this sculpture being seen on ITV Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh,
It was chosen by the Award Winning Garden designer Dave Green and the Royal Horticultural Society to be the centrepiece of The Royal Tribute Garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show in the year of the King’s Coronation.
